Design for Good
Participant
(2013)

In a course called Design for Good taught by Amy Filder, I worked with a client from Family House, a nonprofit that houses the homeless, or more appropriately described as the temporarily unhoused, in Toledo, OH.

The goal of this project was to bring awareness to the organization and mission. I chose to design a game that would spark a conversation around homelessness. The outcome was a tool that the organization could employ to build empathy with potential donors and/or volunteers. I found through the application of this game that participants would show deep empathy for those who identified as homeless and by the end were eager to know how they could help further the Family House mission.
